Currently serving as the Strategic Account Executive for the Health Group at Leidos Inc. in Reston, VA. Over the past year served as the Acting Deputy Health Group President.

At the end of 2017 retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs in the Assistant Secretary and Chief Information Officer position. Prior to that served as the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary and Deputy CIO at the VA. Oversaw the day-to-day activities of VA’s $4.5 billion IT budget and more than 20,000 personnel supporting our Nation’s Veterans. Also served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary Enterprise Program Management Office at the VA. Before coming to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Mr. Thomas served as Deputy Chief Information Officer and Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Washington, D.C. deploying to the Super Storm disaster in 2012. He had oversight responsibilities for all FEMA information systems.

Retired from the Air Force (ANG) in 2001 and assigned at the Pentagon on 9/11. Notable roles with the Air Force included Deputy Chief for Warfighting Integration and Deputy CIO, Office of Air Force Secretary, Director of Architecture and Interoperability, Department of the Air Force, and Executive Director, Air Force Personnel Center, Randolph Air Force Base, Texas. Additionally, he served as an adjunct professor at Cal State teaching systems engineering. He is both Federal certified and DoD certified enterprise architect.
