Danica Thomas is a fierce activist for mental health treatment and expanded care for America’s combat Veterans. As a military wife, turned caregiver, turned widow, Danica is intimately acquainted with the challenges of life after war. Danica’s advocacy was born after the suicide of her husband, SSG Allen Thomas, who after being denied care by the VA hospital suffered a psychotic break that tragically claimed the lives of two unknown civilians and ended with his Suicide. Danica is the Chairman of the Susan M Tillis Foundation, a National Ambassador for PREVENTS, and a key advisor for The Independence Fund. Danica and her two daughters live outside Charlotte, N.C.
